Arson of the famous restaurant in Vouliagmeni


In the southern suburbs of Athens, in the Vouliagmeni area, the famous Akti restaurant was set on fire at dawn on Wednesday 16 October.

The establishment, owned by brothers Thodoris and Iagos Agiostratitis, who also own the historic Margie Hotel, has caused alarm among area residents. According to the publication “Ζούγκλας”, “Akti” is a popular seafood restaurant located on Poseidonos Avenue, 6. It was opened in 2014 and belongs to the Agiostratitis family, which known for its successful activities on the Athens Riviera.

Currently many questions remain about the causes and circumstances that led to the fire. According to some reports, the fire started on the roof of the restaurant. After extinguishing, three bottles with flammable liquid were found. Fortunately, firefighters were able to contain the fire before it caused serious damage to the catering establishment.

A preliminary investigation into the incident is being conducted by the security department of AT Vari Vouliagmenis, and the police are searching for materials from surveillance cameras.
