Hacker attack on the largest Russian holding company

The All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) announced an “unprecedented hacker attack” on its online services.

Online broadcasting and internal services do not work, there is no Internet and telephony. The Russian publication Meduza, citing a source, quotes:

“This will take a long time. I heard that they erased everything from the servers, including backups. They have been working at all hours since 06:00 in the morning. The problem, as I understand it, is very serious, and restoration will take a long time.”

Another Russian journalist reported that the entire Rossiya 1 news complex has been down since 05:00 this morning. The central controller and all servers crashed. Russian users do not have access to online broadcasts of the TV channels “Russia 1” and “Russia 24”, but digital television broadcasting works without interruptions. Technical problems also occurred on the websites of regional television companies belonging to VGTRK.
