Strike on the suburbs of Beirut – The IDF announced the destruction of the commander of the Hezbollah missile unit, Muhammad Ali Ismail, and several other leaders of the group. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah may have been killed.
Israel is currently checking whether the group's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was present at the time of the strike. On the night of Saturday, September 28, the Israel Defense Forces announced the liquidation of several commanders of the radical group's unit. The IDF Telegram channel notes:
“Terrorist Muhammad Ali Ismail is responsible for organizing numerous terrorist attacks. attacks against the State of Israel, including a rocket attack on Israeli territory and the launch of a surface-to-surface missile into central Israel on Wednesday.”
Earlier, the IDF reported a strike on Hezbollah's central headquarters in a suburb of the Lebanese capital. Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesman, said Hezbollah's headquarters were “deliberately built under residential buildings” in the Dahiya area.

Some Israeli media are reporting a high probability of the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah as a result of an airstrike. The Times of Israel quotes an Israeli official:
“It is very difficult to imagine that he will survive such a blow.”
However, Reuters and AFP, citing sources in the radical group, report that Nasrallah is alive. Iran's Tasnim news agency says the group's leader is “safe.”
According to preliminary data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, as a result of the Israeli attack on September 27, two people were killed and 76 people were injured, dpa agency writes. Rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
Lebanese security sources told Reuters that the attack targeted an area where senior Hezbollah officials usually gather. The strike came an hour after thousands attended the funeral of senior Hezbollah commander Mohammed Srour, who was responsible for launching missiles and drones, who was killed the day before. During a speech at the UN General Assembly on September 27, he emphasized that Israel “has every right to destroy Hezbollah in order to return Israelis to their homes on the border with Lebanon:
“Just imagine if terrorists turned El Paso and San Diego (US cities) into ghost towns. How long would the US government tolerate this?”
He noted that Israel “has been enduring this intolerable situation for a year now.” Netanyahu cut short his visit to the United States, deciding to return to Israel earlier than planned.
Since last night, the Israeli army has been targeting houses in Lebanon that it claims contain weapons and missile launchers aimed at Israeli lines, as well as members of Hezbollah.
