Israel turns to Russia for help (video)

Israel has asked Russia for help in freeing hostages from Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as reports Bloomberg, took this step against the backdrop of slow progress in negotiations with Hamas, which are being conducted with the participation of the United States, Qatar and Egypt.

He returned on Sunday morning from Moscow, where he discussed the hostage issue with the Russian side. As is known, the Russian Federation maintains contacts with Hamas on the fate of the hostages who hold Russian citizenship.

A major hostage crisis is brewing in Israel. After six hostages were found dead in Hamas tunnels, the opposition began accusing Benjamin Netanyahu of inaction and announced a strike for today.

Recall that the Israeli military announced the extraction of hostages' bodies from underground in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. The bodies of Carmel Gat, Gersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Ori Danino were returned to Israel, military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told reporters. A forensic examination determined that they were “killed by Hamas terrorists with multiple shots from close range” 48-72 hours ago, a spokesman for the Israeli Health Ministry said. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will not rest until it catches those responsible. “Whoever kills hostages does not want an agreement,” the statement quotes Reuters.
