The European Union has accumulated the necessary gas reserves for the coming winter two months ahead of schedule.
As of August 19, reports Bloomberg, gas storage facilities are 90% full. True, this is slightly less than at the same time last year, due to a slowdown in deliveries over the summer. However, the current figures are still well above the five-year average.
Europe continues to face risks from sudden supply disruptions. Countries continue to discusshow they can replace Russian pipeline gas after the transit agreement between Russia and Ukraine expires.
And Norway, which is Europe's largest gas supplier, is embarking on a major maintenance period, keeping traders on high alert.
