The suspect in the death of a 46-year-old refugee from Ukraine in the German city of Rostock has been detained – he turned out to be a 26-year-old Ukrainian.
How tells German publication DW, citing the Rostock prosecutor's office, has submitted a motion to arrest the suspect to the court. The investigation's secrecy does not allow for further details, the publication notes. It is only known that the body of the deceased Ukrainian was found in a specialized refugee center on the afternoon of August 12.
The center's employee alerted police and emergency services, but an ambulance doctor pronounced the man dead. Law enforcement officials said the circumstances of the body's discovery indicated homicide.
However, the Rostock city prosecutor's office then decided to release the Ukrainian from custody, as stated in a joint statement by the city prosecutor's office and the police. writes “European Truth”. The prosecutor's office noted that investigative actions against the Ukrainian on suspicion of murder are continuing, but it does not yet “see a reasonable suspicion”: “For this reason, the man was released from custody today.”
