Weather forecast: Clearchos Marousakis predicts heat until August 15


Renowned meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis predicts that hot weather will continue in Greece until mid-August: “The heat will show its teeth along with the expected high temperatures”:

“Unchanged weather conditions until at least August 15, with meltemia prevalent in the Aegean, heat breaking out to the west and south, and rain continuing mainly in the mountains of the mainland. In short, typical summer weather.”

Saturday, August 10

Clear sunny weather with small clouds at midday in continental areas, local rains in the mountains. North wind, in the Aegean Sea in places up to 6-7 points on the Beaufort scale.

The temperature will not change significantly. On the continent, the thermometer will reach 35–37°C, in some places – 38°C, in the Cyclades and northern Crete – 32°C, in the rest of the island country – 34–35°C.

Sunday, August 11th

Clear weather, light cloudiness in continental areas – mainly in the mountains during daytime. North wind, from 3 to 5 points, in the Aegean Sea up to 7, and in places up to 8 points on the Beaufort scale.

The temperature will not change significantly: 35–38°C on the mainland, 34–36°C on the Ionian Islands, the islands of the eastern Aegean Sea, the Dodecanese and southern Crete, 29–31°C in the rest of the island country.

Monday, August 12

Clear and sunny. The north wind will be 3-5 points, in the Aegean Sea 6 points, in some places up to 7 points on the Beaufort scale. By evening the wind will subside.

A slight increase in temperature: 36-38°C on the mainland, in places up to 39-40°C; 35-36°C on the Ionian Islands, the eastern islands of the Aegean Sea, the Dodecanese and southern Crete; 30-32°C in the rest of the island country.

Tuesday, August 13

Clear weather with some clouds in the afternoon in the west, in the northern part of the mainland and in Crete, mainly in the mountains. West wind, from 2 to 4 points, in the afternoon northwest 4-5 points, in the east of the country north, from 3 to 5 points and in the Aegean Sea in places 6 points on the Beaufort scale. The temperature will rise a little more.

Wednesday, August 14

Small clouds in clear skies will appear only during daytime hours in the western and northern continental regions, in some places the cloudiness will increase, so local showers or thunderstorms are possible in the mountains.

West wind from 2 to 4 points, in places up to 5 points, in the east north wind from 3 to 5 points, in the Aegean Sea up to 6-7 points on the Beaufort scale. The temperature will not change significantly.
