Former US President Donald Trump's plane experienced technical problems during the flight.
The plane was forced to land 228 km short of its destination. How reports On August 9, Associated Press, Trump was heading to a rally in Montana, but due to technical problems, the US presidential candidate's plane changed its route and landed at another airport in the state, Billings.
Citing the US Secret Service, NBC News reportsthat the plane's problem was not related to security issues. It remains unclear whether there was an initial intention to land in Billings or Bozeman, where Trump was scheduled to appear at a fundraising dinner and rally.
The presidential candidate's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday evening. Trump's deputy communications director, Margo Martin, posted a video of Trump on X in which he says:
“I just landed in a really beautiful place in Montana, it's so beautiful to fly over and you just look down and that's how it's supposed to be.”

Airport officials said the plane landed safely. The plane was headed to Bozeman, Montana, but was diverted to Billings, 140 miles east, said Jenny Mockel, an administrative assistant at Logan International Airport in Billings. Trump then continued on to Bozeman on a private jet. In a video after landing, Trump made no mention of the incident.
