Doctors at the Pyrgos hospital made every effort to save a 48-year-old man after he was bitten by a spider, but he died. Doctors say: “We have tried many things, but there is no antidote.”

Just yesterday we reportedthat a man who was bitten by a spider is in critical condition in intensive care. He was on holiday in Ilya and was hospitalised after an encounter with a poisonous brown spider on August 6. At first, the man felt pain in his leg, not realizing that he had been bitten. However, his condition rapidly worsened, and the symptoms indicated a poisonous bite.

In Pyrgos, there is mourning and concern, because this could happen again to any other resident of the region, and doctors, as it turns out, do not have an antidote to help.

As noted by the director of the surgical clinic of Pyrgos Hospital Angeliki Sarantopoulou, doctors mobilized immediately, but they were unable to save the man, since There is no antidote for a brown spider biteShe emphasized:

“Unfortunately, despite the superhuman efforts of all the staff, our patient ultimately did not survive. What happened was something that was known from the very beginning. Unfortunately, these incidents do not end well. We tried very hard… From the descriptions, we understood that it was a bite of a brown spider, for which there is no antidote. In general, the development of the consequences of a bite occurs rapidly, although at first it does not seem serious. The patient does not realize this. We were shocked.”
