A whole “war” has broken out between US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump over the date and location of the debates.
Democratic presidential candidate Harris' campaign, writes CNN Greece has accused its Republican rival Donald Trump of violated his word on Saturday, August 3, proposing a new date for the television battle.
The former president said in a statement Friday evening that he agreed with Fox News to hold a debate with Harris on September 4. Initially, before Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy, The debate was scheduled for September 10 on ABC News.but Trump suggested moving them to Fox.
Michael Tyler, Harris' communications director, said “Donald Trump is scared and tries to avoid debatewhich he had already agreed to, and runs to Fox News to smear her.” He said, implying that Harris would go there anyway:
“He needs to stop playing around and show up for the debate he's already promised on September 10 on ABC. The vice president will be there anyway, so she'll have a chance to address a national audience in prime time. We'd be happy to discuss other TV fights after the one both campaigns have already agreed to.”
Fox News has not yet responded to a request for comment. Trump's proposal to hold the fight on Fox came after Democrats launched an advertising campaign on Friday.
