Impressive video: Poseidonos Avenue from a bird's eye view

Poseidonos Avenue, one of the most important and beautiful thoroughfares of the capital, has been transformed right before our eyes in recent months.

Poseidonos Avenue, also known as Paraliaki, runs through the southern suburbs of the capital. One of the largest avenues in Attica, starting in Piraeus and ending in Voula (where it was renamed Konstantinou Karamanli Avenue), it passes through the districts of Palaio Faliro, Kallithea, Alimos, Elliniko and Glyfada.

Famous among other things for its nightlife and unique location next to the sea, the avenue has recently undergone significant changes due to the works taking place in Elliniko and Ag. Kosmas, the largest urban regeneration initiative in Europe.

As for the infrastructure part, one of the most important projects is deepening of the section of Poseidonos Avenue 1.3 km long from Alimos beach to Agios Kosmas marina.

This will modernize the city's road network, ensuring the fastest possible movement of vehicles. At the same time, the coastline will be connected to Elliniko Park and the city's infrastructure.

According to the data, the works are more than 80% complete, with 60% of the walls being concreted. Also, 75% of the base plate has been concreted. Due to the underground construction (1.5 km long) from Alimos Beach to Agios Kosmas Marina, traffic congestion will be reduced by removing 6 traffic lights and creating 6 traffic lanes (three in one direction and three in the other). The entire area currently occupied by the beach will be transformed into a green area that will connect the Metropolitan Park with the beach, and a bicycle path will pass through the area.

At the same time, drivers passing along the embankment see day after day that new floors are being added to the Riviera Tower. It will be the tallest green skyscraper in the Mediterranean, with a final height of 200 meters and a total of 50 floors.

It is worth noting that all apartments of the Riviera skyscraper, construction of which is expected in the first quarter of 2026, put up for sale when work began in Elliniko, they have already been sold out, despite the exorbitant prices.

In the following video you can see unique images of Poseidonos Avenue from Elliniko, where urban renewal works are underway, to Eden Beach in Palaio Faliro.
