M. Sakkari was disqualified in singles and doubles (women's with Despina Papamichael and mixed with S. Tsitsipas) and left Paris and the Olympic Village.

Just before leaving Paris, Maria Sakkari spoke about her presence at the Olympics:
“It's hard to leave the Olympic village and the Games so early. I wanted to stay until the end. The last hours are not very pleasant, but life goes on and fortunately in tennis we have opportunities all the time because we have matches all year round. But the Olympics – no. We'll have to wait another four years.”
