Thessaloniki: Arrests at a store selling counterfeit clothing


Police have arrested two people who sold counterfeit clothing through their store, which they hid in a specially equipped attic.

We are talking about the business owner and employee, against whom a criminal case was initiated for forgery of documents and violation of the legislation on regulation of the food market. In addition, the owner was also imposed an administrative fine.

Thousands of confiscated goods, more than 300,000 euros in damages to companies. RThe investigation of the case was preceded by the corresponding use of information data. As part of the investigation that followed in the above-mentioned exhibition space, 5,138 counterfeit clothing and footwear items were found and confiscated. During the search, 980 euros were also found and confiscated from the employee.

The above mentioned items had no legal documents or corresponding contracts with legal companies. At the same time, they had labels indicating high prices corresponding to genuine products.

It is noted that the total amount of the alleged damage, according to expert opinions from representatives of the companies producing the products, exceeds 357,000 euros. The arrested persons were taken to the competent prosecutor's office.
