Mykonos: After villa rental prices, plane tickets 'drop'

Last August, the cost of a one-way trip from Athens to Mykonos exceeded 100 euros. This year, tickets can be bought for 24 euros.

After the sharp decline in villa prices, airlines serving the island of the Winds have also joined the trend, setting very low ticket prices. For example, for the entire month of August, which is considered the best month for vacations and the most expensive for air travel, the company Volotea offers seats from 24 euros for the Athens-Mykonos route and 48 euros for the return flight. The same offers are valid throughout September and October, Mykonoslive.tv reports.

At the same time, the occupancy rate of Mykonos properties is low both seasonally and in data, resulting in owners reducing prices for the first time to even a fifth of the original price. According to mykonoslive.tv, for example, a newly built one-bedroom villa with a brand new private pool, private outdoor Jacuzzi and stunning views of Psaros Bay is currently rented for 231 euros per night instead of 923 euros (which was the original price).

In the area of Klouvas, near Ftelia beach, Luxury 56 m2 one bedroom suite with private outdoor pool, terrace with sun loungers and outdoor dining area, living room with well-equipped kitchen and high quality dining area rented for 238 euros/night.

According to mykonoslive.tv, there are now even five-bedroom villas on Mykonos that were rented for €2,000 per night last year, but this year they can be rented for €500 per night.
