Construction Materials Prices Increased by 5.4% in June


Building materials prices overall rose 5.4% in June as price increases continued across all individual material categories.

In particular, new prices have been fixed for:

  • Bricks (13.1%),
  • Copper wires (9.9%),
  • Plastic pipes (8%),
  • Plastic, synthetic, fibre cement pipes (7.8%),
  • Radiators (7.7%),
  • Electrical distribution boards (7.3%),
  • Switches (7.1%),
  • Solar water heaters (7%),
  • Protective glass (6.9%),
  • Tiles in general – floor, wall (6.2%),
  • Cement (5.9%),
  • Aluminum frames (5.9%),
  • Parquet (5.4%),
  • Solutions and ready-mix concrete (5.4%),
  • Marble slabs (5.1%),
  • Plastic, acrylic, water (4.7%),
  • Reinforcement (4.1%) and
  • Ready-mix concrete (4%).

Against, In the electric power industry, a 12.2% decrease in prices was recorded.

As reported by ELSTATthe general index of prices for materials for the construction of new residential buildings showed an increase of 5.4% in June 2024 compared with the corresponding index in June 2023, with an increase of 7.6% when comparing the corresponding indices in 2023-2022.
