Famous entrepreneur Babis Vovos has died

Last Saturday, July 13, the famous construction magnate Babis Vovos passed away at the age of 92. The businessman's family confirmed the news with a statement made only today, July 21.

Babis Vovos was born in 1933 in Filiatra and managed to write his own history in the architecture of Athens. He was the initiator of the construction of many glass buildings on Kifissias Avenue. In his later years, the man retired from business and spent much time with his family: his wife Maria, children Aris, Vicky, Anra and Natalie, and granddaughter Maria Panagiota.

After retiring, Babis rarely visited the office. As is known, in previous years he had problems with the judicial system: in 2020, he was arrested after two convictions for tax evasion. Once behind bars, the businessman felt unwell and was placed in the Korydallos prison hospital. In particular, due to his advanced age (87 years), after a day he “served his sentence” and was released.

As stated on the website of the company “Μπάμπης Βωβός – Διεθνής Τεχνική”, the company was founded in 1974. The number of buildings that the company has constructed and commissioned during its 32 years of activity exceeds 30. These include some of the most famous, renowned and modern architectural complexes in Athens, such as ATRINA, AGORA, POLIS, DELFI CORNER, ATRIUM, MONUMENTAL PLAZA, etc.
