Thessaloniki: properties under the hammer with a starting price of 250 euros

July of this year can be described as the month of auctions: in the coming days, Thessaloniki will hear the sound of approximately three electronic hammers every day.

As reported by voria.gr, the auction “menu” includes a full range of real estate objects: residential buildings, parking lots, warehouses, shops, offices and land plots, which are planning to find a new private owner (if nothing is done by the debtor). Starting prices start from… literally a “handful” of euros for warehouses, going under the hammer for 250 euros, to 5.39 million euros for a multi-storey car park.

The vast majority of procedures initiated by debt collection companies and mainly concerns residential premises. There are 45 auctions planned for the coming days until the end of July, and 28 for September so far.

The first offer prices for residences, which are the main subject of the auctions, vary depending on the type, size and area of the property: from 347,500 euros to 5,100 euros (for a semi-basement apartment). It is noted that there are clearly more cases of houses where the first offer price is set at around 100,000 euros than those in small quantities.

The lowest starting prices of €250 each were for two warehouses, while the highest for a warehouse reached €15,071. The highest price for a shop reached €548,000 and was recorded for a shop in the center of Thessaloniki, while the lowest was €5,460 for a shop in Charilaou. A multi-storey eight-level car park on Prometheus Street is up for auction for €5.39 million.
