Russian-Chinese naval exercises underway in the Pacific Ocean (video)

Analysts have expressed serious concern about the scale and growing frequency of joint exercises between Russia and China.

The countries are currently conducting joint naval exercises in the Pacific Ocean, which include: protection of ships at anchor, joint reconnaissance, search and rescue operations, air and missile defense. How tells Euronews, Russia sent two of its newest Pacific Fleet corvettes to the exercises.

Beijing stressed that the exercises are not conditioned by the international situation and are not directed against any third country. However, Japan expressed its concern on Friday about the maneuvers being conducted near its waters.

Meanwhile, analysts have noted a noticeably increased intensity of joint maneuvers between Beijing and Moscow – recently they have been held virtually every year.

At the NATO summit in early July, Western countries directly called China the “main accomplice” of Russian aggression against Ukraine. China is also criticized in the West for the open escalation of the situation around Taiwan and the disputed islands in the Pacific Ocean.

Simultaneously with the NATO summit, China conducted joint exercises with Belarus near the alliance's border.
