A mechanical engineer at Chabahar Konarak airport in southern Iran died tragically when he was sucked into the engine of a passenger plane after picking up a tool lying nearby.
The engineer, identified as Abolfazl Amiri by the Daily Mail, was carrying out routine maintenance on a Boeing 737-500 operated by Iranian domestic airline Varesh Airline when he was sucked into the engine.

The German newspaper Bild reports that the starboard engine was started for a test run with the flaps open. A safe space was created around the engine, as is usually required.
But when Amiri realized he had forgotten a tool in the engine, he moved toward it, causing the running unit to suck him in. He died instantly before the engine caught fire. Amiri's body was found after the airport fire department arrived at the scene.
The relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the tragic incident.
