Duda: "I decided to convene the National Security Council on Monday at 9 a.m., before we left for Washington for the NATO summit."

Polish President Andrzej Duda has convened a meeting of the Polish Security Council – at the NATO summit in Washington, Warsaw will ask for further strengthening of the alliance's eastern flank, given the Russian threat.

The Polish president said this on Thursday, July 4, at a media briefing at the Doctrine and Training Center of the Polish Armed Forces in Bydgoszcz. He noted that the country's national security strategy would be changed. The previous one was adopted in 2020, but since then, Duda recalled, the security situation in Eastern Europe has changed significantly.

He expressed hope that Poland will soon have an updated document that will meet its national security needs. He added that the NATO-Ukraine Analysis, Preparation and Training Center for the exchange of experience between the military will soon be launched in the country.
