The headquarters of former US President Donald Trump announced a possible deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin on non-expansion of NATO.
As reported with reference to sources newspaper Politico, former American leader and presidential candidate may abandon NATO expansion to the eastThe publication notes:
“Trump is considering a deal in which NATO agrees not to expand eastward and to negotiate with the Russian president over Ukrainian territory that Moscow can keep.”
Trump has previously stated on multiple occasions that will be able to resolve the Ukrainian conflict before the start of his presidential term if he is re-elected. Last year, the politician said he would be able to end the conflict in Ukraine in 24 hours in case of victory in the presidential elections.
The Kremlin has refused to comment on Trump's words about the end of the conflict in Ukraine, writes Lenta.ru: “We cannot comment on this,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, adding that Trump's words show his weak understanding of the situation and the essence of the issue.
