Sales of VIP tours to Greece among Russians have doubled

Tour operator “Russian Express” reports a significant increase in demand for tours to Greece, and the geography of travel has also expanded.

This summer, the geography of travel has increased – in addition to the popular islands of Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Kos, Santorini and Mykonos, holiday offers to mainland resorts have appeared: on the Athens Riviera, Peloponnese and Halkidiki. The press service of the Russian Express tour operator noted that it is also possible to book hotels in Thassos, Kefalonia and Skiathos – travelers are already actively interested in these destinations. The company says:

“Sales of tours to Greece have doubled this year compared to last year. There have been many requests from tourists who vacationed in this country before the pandemic and wanted to return to their favorite hotels. There have also been more flights with one transfer, which has led to a decrease in the cost of the flight.”

In early August, you can get from Moscow to Athens with one transfer for 50-70 thousand rubles. There and back againdepending on the length of the connection. Another available option is to fly to Dalaman or Bodrum and take a ferry to Rhodes or Kos.

Most often, they say in Russian Express, travelers book accommodation in Greece in four- to five-star hotels, hotels in the more expensive deluxe segment and villas. The tour operator’s press service explains that they choose a vacation lasting from ten days to two weeks:

“The depth of bookings for tours to Greece is quite large; tours for the nearest departure dates are not taken so often. It takes about a month to get a visa.”

The tour operator is ready to help with the registration of the Greek Schengen visa both in Moscow and in the regions – to take over the process completely or to advise on how to apply independently.

The growing interest in Greece is also connected with the opening of many new premium hotels. Among the most interesting is One & Only Kea Island, which opened in June this year. It is located on the picturesque island of Kea near Athens. The hotel has a wide selection of luxury villas and suites, many of which have private pools and terraces. Most rooms overlook the Aegean Sea.

“The main advantages of a villa holiday are independence and privacy. Guests spend their time in a way that is convenient for them. Villas in Greece can be located on the territory of hotels, and then guests can use the entire infrastructure of the hotel. Booking private villas is also available.”

The villas have an exclusive design, are surrounded by a garden, are located on spacious plots of land on the coast and are equipped with terraces, private pools, and barbecue areas. Russian Express notes:

“Typically, travelers book our villas ranging from two to eight bedrooms, suitable for large families and groups, as well as solo travelers seeking maximum comfort. But there are also requests for villas with much larger capacity; this season’s record holder is a villa for 50 people in Mykonos.”

Greece cordially offers many possibilities for a luxury holiday. Tourists have access to transfers and helicopter excursions in all regions of the country, the company says:

“Discerning guests can rent a yacht for any period – for a short sea trip or for several days and weeks. On board you can organize a party, a picnic, a disco for young people or a private holiday. On the yacht you can go to various islands: Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Syros, Milos and others.”

This season, the tour operator has added new signature excursions. Among them are a VIP master class in cheese making and cooking, as well as a “Truffle Hunt” in Crete, wine tasting in Mykonos and on Lycabettus Hill in Crete, and other programs.
