ISW experts explained that the destruction of the Crimean Bridge will force the Russian military to use a long route along the northern coast of the Sea of Azov.

Experts note that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on the bridge with long-range weapons will sever an important communication channel for Russian forces based in Crimea and will aggravate the Ukrainian Armed Forces' vulnerabilities.
Analysts cited the words of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov: a sufficient number of long-range ATACMS missiles provided by the United States could allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike the Kerch Bridge and break the important Russian land line of communication between occupied Crimea and Rostov. The report states:
“Budanov said Ukraine could isolate occupied Crimea, which the Russian military uses as a rear foothold, by launching long-range ATACMS missile strikes on the bridge over the Kerch Strait.”
