Holiday of Ag. Pneumatos (Holy Spirit) falls on June 24 this year. The day is not one of the public holidays defined by law for the private sector.
This is a public holiday for civil servants and local government employees. Utilities and banks may remain closed, but the vast majority of shops and supermarkets are open as normal.
Retail outlets will remain closed only in those regions where local trade associations have also declared the day a holiday. In some cases, shops and supermarkets remain open, but operate at special hours (depending on the day on which Ag. Pneumatos fell).
Pharmacies and gas stations remain open, operating as usual.
