From July 1, foreign passports for Russians will become more expensive


From July 1, 2024, a new type of international passport will become one thousand rubles more expensive for citizens of the Russian Federation.

The state fee for the document will be six thousand rubles for adults, reports Russian publication Lenta.ru. For children under 14 years of age, the state duty will be equal to three thousand rubles, now it is 2.5 thousand rubles.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges travelers to check the details and expiration dates of their foreign passports before their holiday. The department reminded that if there are errors in the documents, they can be replaced free of charge.

Brussels offers some consolation: fees remain “relatively low” compared to the cost of visas to other countries: 134 euros for the UK, 185 euros for the USA, 117 euros for Australia.
