Hair: Elderly woman dies after drinking contaminated water

Elderly woman died from tap water contaminated with a dangerous microbe in the prefecture of Magnesia.

According to a local website, the 82-year-old woman became ill from the tap water and developed severe symptoms of gastroenteritis within hours. In addition to stomach problems, the woman had a high fever. The unfortunate woman underwent treatment recommended by doctors at the Velestinos Medical Center, but her health condition worsened. She was transferred to a clinic in Volos, where she found herself in a state of cardiac arrest after her body completely weakened.

The woman lived in Nea Anchialos, but due to health problems in recent weeks she moved to her daughter's house in Stefanovikio. It is worth noting that the daughter of the deceased also fell ill with gastroenteritis.

Let us remind you that at the beginning of June, the EODY team, together with DEYA Riga Feraio technicians, are at the point of the reservoir feeding the network to take water samples and carry out laboratory tests to establish further evidence of the outbreak of gastroenteritis in Magnesia. Also, according to ERT, three water wells were checked in the two villages of Risomilu and Stefanovikeio, where dozens of cases of gastroenteritis were detected. Magnisia authorities previously warned residents of the prefecture about the ban on drinking tap water.
