A Delaware jury found Hunter Biden guilty of three counts.
How writes euronews, he is accused in a case of weapons violations. Jurors were persuaded by prosecution evidence that Biden lied about buying a firearm in October 2018 when he answered “no” to a gun purchase form when asked if he was a drug addict.
That is, he was found guilty of filing a false statement when purchasing a weapon and confirming that this information was true, as well as possessing a weapon by a person who is a drug addict. Biden Jr. himself has not pleaded guilty.
The sentencing date has not yet been set. He faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750 thousand. Previously, Joe Biden stated that he would not sign a decree pardoning his son if he was found guilty, and after the jury’s verdict, the US President statedthat he is “proud” of his son, because he is not only the president, but also the father:
“Many families who have loved ones struggling with addiction understand the sense of pride in seeing someone you love come out of the woodwork and become strong and resilient in recovery. As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and “I will respect the legal process while Hunter appeals. Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with love and support. Nothing will ever change that.”
