Summer has already arrived, and many city residents are already looking forward to a mini-weekend, a few days that they can spend outside the city, in nature, at the sea. And three days of the Holy Spirit is a good opportunity.
In Greece Whit Monday – a national Christian holiday and day off, although not for everyone. Let us remind you that the Feast of the Holy Spirit (Αγίου Πνεύματος) this year falls on Monday June 24, and for hired civil servants ΝΠΔΔ and ΟΤΑ – it's a day off. However this day not included in the statutory public holidays for private sector employees. Banks and government services are closed on Holy Spirit Day.
Spiritual Day or the Day of the Holy Spirit (Αγίου Πνεύματος) in Orthodoxy is celebrated on the 51st day after Easter, that is, the day after Pentecost. In Orthodox churches it is also called Holy Spirit Monday. The following three-day weekends this year fall on the following dates:
- Assumption of the Virgin Mary August 15 (Thursday).
- Anniversary of “OXI” October 28 (Monday).
- Christmas 25 December (Wednesday).
- Praise of the Mother of God December 26 (Thursday).
