Electricity tariffs: changes from today

Changes are coming to the tariffs of electricity providers, which come into force from today, June 1.

How tells CNN Greece, there are three innovations that will affect consumers. It is worth noting that 53% of beneficiaries have already entered the monthly accounting cycle, according to data from ΔΕΔΔΗΕ. The introduction of new “night” hours and new prices for feed-in tariffs is only a matter of time.

So about the changes in detail. Night rates will now apply during midday hours. This change is attributed to the abundant production of electricity from APEs to avoid leaving thousands of megawatt-hours of electricity unused.

In early June, as planned, prices for colored electricity tariffs will be announced so that consumers can compare them and choose a supplier according to their taste. But prices are expected to be slightly higher in June, largely due to rising natural gas prices, as well as balancing costs due to increased geopolitical turmoil internationally.

In less than four months since ΔΕΔΔΗΕ began counting payments monthly, 53% of its customers nationwide are already included in the monthly counting cycle. The sum of these benefits is equivalent to 73% of the total energy consumed in Greece in kWh.

By the end of June, the total monthly billing will reach 65%, corresponding to 85% of total energy consumption, and by the end of July it is expected to reach 100%.
