A livestock breeder shot and killed a robber from Georgia

The attack on the livestock complex of a 54-year-old resident of Kilkis was carried out by three criminals. As a result, one of them was shot by a farmer in self-defense.

It all happened at 22:30 on the night of Monday 20/05, when the now deceased 45-year-old man, a native of Georgia, along with three other people (38-year-old friend, 15-year-old friend of his son and 16-year-old son) entered the livestock farm complex.

Seeing unknown people who had entered the farmstead, the owner shot at them with a rifle. Immediately after this, the criminals jumped into the car and disappeared from sight. The man reported the incident to the police.

A few hours later the staff ELAS discovered the criminals in the village of Muries and determined that a 45-year-old man died from a gunshot wound. According to the head of the Murio community, Thodoris Tiriakidis, “These people were known for their criminal activities in the area.”

A man was arrested and charged with murder, and three other people accused of attempted robbery were handcuffed by police. According to the father of the criminal (they live together, the son is single and has no children), on Monday evening they went to the livestock part of the farm because they heard some suspicious noise there. Already on the way to the utility room, an angry man jumped out of the door with an ax and began shouting that “will solve everyone”. Apparently the thieves entered the room to take out things and tools. The son got scared and fired a shot.

As it became known, the son of one of the robbers used to work for the farmer. But the man fired him because he was stealing from him. Apparently they wanted to take revenge and visited the farmer at night. Those arrested were taken to the Kilkis First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
