A 23-year-old man, who had been living illegally in Greece for the past 3 years, approached a 62-year-old woman who was working in the field, and then used violence to immobilize her.
Despite the woman's resistance, the man raped her. The woman's nightmare ended when she was able to grab a nearby hammer and hit it, wounding the rapist in the head.
The woman's relatives took her to Kato Achaia Health Center for first aid, and Western Achaia Police officers, in an immediate search, found the accused and took him to the security department, where he was arrested.
During the arrest, the guy confessed to what he had done, and today he was taken to the Patras prosecutor's office.
