Employees of the anti-extortion department solved the attempted murder of a 33-year-old man, committed in the early morning of September 10, 2023, near one of the nightclubs in the Athens district of Petroupoli.
At around 5:00 a.m., a fight broke out between club guests, during which one of them pulled out a gun and shot at a 33-year-old man, wounding him in the leg.
The police investigation revealed that the shooter was a 39-year-old Albanian man who had previously been arrested in Lyon (France) on a European arrest warrant.
Presumably that day, for an unknown reason, he had an argument with the victim and, although he initially left the scene, he returned a few seconds later, pulling a pistol from his belt. He then took a shooting position, knelt down, and, taking aim at the man, fired a precise shot at him, wounding him in the left leg, after which he fled on foot.
Immediately after this, the criminal left the country and fled to Albania.
