Eleven people are missing due to persistent heavy rains that have hit southern China's Guangdong province in recent days.
This was reported by the local emergency management department.
Search and rescue operations continue. By data departments, writes the State News Agency Xinhua, a total of 100,000 people were evacuated throughout the province, 36 houses collapsed, and 48 were seriously damaged. Heavy rains affected many areas and cities, including Shaoguan, Guangzhou, Heyuan, Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Meizhou and Huizhou.
In the Chinese province of Guangdong, a bridge collapsed due to severe flooding. Flights at Guangzhou International Airport have been cancelled. In three cities, authorities closed all schools.
