Agios Anargyros: new documentary video about the murder of Kyriaki Griva

Kyriaki Griva, 28, died a horrific death at the hands of her 39-year-old ex-partner, minutes after she went to Agios Anargyros police station to report threats and ask for help because she feared he would kill her. Which, unfortunately, is what happened.

On the evening of April 1, Kiriaki died right in front of the police station, or rather, in front of the security post, when a man stabbed her multiple times. Let us recall that the young victim asked for a police car to escort her home, but was refused: “A police car is not a taxi.”

After several videos of that fateful evening were released, another one has emerged this morning that may be the most chilling yet. This footage, released by ANT1, shows the reactions of those who witnessed Sunday's murder. As you'll notice, no one seems shocked and they all walk down the street with complete composure as the woman passes away. Among these people, apparently, is her boyfriend, who accompanied her to the police station. Watch the video:

Six police officers from the Agios Anargyros station are demanding written explanations about what happened on the night of April 1. They will have to answer to the relevant department of the National Police for their omissions and inaction, as a result of which a woman was killed near the entrance to the police station.

At the same time, the results of an administrative sworn investigation ordered by the Internal Affairs Service of the National Police are awaited, which will concern both the employees of the Police Department and the police officer in the call center of the Emergency Service.

The woman's family will demand an investigation into police misconduct. It should be noted that on 12/4 the Kiriaki family submitted a statement to the investigator in support of the accusation. As stated in a statement by lawyer Elena Tsulis, representing the interests of the victim’s family, “At the interrogation stage, an investigation into the crime of manslaughter will be conducted against the government agencies responsible for the brutal murder.”

In the same context, requests will be sent to all relevant authorities, including the Internal Investigations Department of the National Police, to conduct a full investigation into all aspects of the case against all those responsible.
