More and more foreign publications are placing Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades in leading positions among other holiday proposals in Greece with themed trips.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Naxos is one of the 5 ideal family holiday destinations in Greece. “Naxos has it all, from ancient history and epic beaches to picturesque villages and a culinary culture unique in all of Greece,” says the guide brochure.
There is optimism about the dynamics of our destinations, taking into account the Greek Easter and the upcoming tourist season,” noted the Deputy Mayor for Tourism of the Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades, Vangelis Katsaras, adding that “throughout this period we have had extensive contacts with agencies such as EOT, journalists, guidebook publishers, television producers and bloggers to strengthen our presence nationally and internationally.”
Naxos is an island in the Aegean Sea, the largest of the islands of the Cyclades archipelago (428 sq. km.) Known for its marble and emery deposits and being the Greek breadbasket, Naxos is rapidly gaining popularity among travelers. Green valleys and mountains, beautiful beaches and crystal clear seas, a rich history that has given rise to an abundance of attractions, hospitable locals who love to dance and have fun – the island will find something for everyone. The main city is Chora (or Naxos).
