European intelligence agencies fear terrorist attacks

European intelligence services fear terrorist attacks at the Olympics in Paris and at the European Football Championship in Germany.

During EURO 24 football, from June 14 to July 14, a ban on drone flights will be introduced throughout Germany. This was stated by Andreas Rosskopf, head of the German police union, in an interview with BILD:

“Drones are becoming one of the biggest problems, so for the duration of the European Championships a comprehensive nationwide ban on drone flights will be introduced throughout Germany.”

He assured that the police already have anti-drone guns, since experts do not exclude the possibility that terrorists will use drones. Austrian terrorism researcher Nicholas Stockhammer says:

“It is ISIS that, since 2014-2015, has increasingly used drones in attacks and attacks: both kamikaze drones and drones with explosives. Today, technology has become more accessible. This increases the real risk that killers will resort to this inexpensive and remotely controlled technology. Plans to use drones are ubiquitous in relevant forums. The danger will increase if they manage to capture modern military drones in current war zones.”

The expert noted that terrorists now mainly use small drones purchased via the Internet. French intelligence services are also on standby. They even recommend canceling the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics due to the threat of terrorist attacks. The Summer Olympic Games will be held in the French capital from July 26 to August 11, reminds edition “Country”.

Earlier we told you that after the terrorist attack in the Russian Federation in France maximum level introduced terrorist threat under the Vigipirate national plan. Special security measures have been announced at schools. The number of patrols and checks has increased on streets and squares, in crowded places.

Three thousand troops patrol residential areas, another four thousand are on alert and can be immediately mobilized. Of course, not all French are happy about this. Although it is worth paying tribute to the special services – since 2017, 45 terrorist attacks have been prevented in France, including two at the beginning of 2024.
