A girl almost lost her ear on the playground

A child’s play on the playground in Amfilochia almost ended in tragedy – the girl seriously injured her ear, which almost came off.

The child was playing on the playground, which was not yet open, but someone allegedly removed the sign and the entrance was open. According to the MEGA channel, the child was injured by defective equipment and cut off his right ear.

The nine-year-old girl was taken to Amfilochia Medical Center and then to Hatzikosta Emergency Hospital in Ioannina. To sew the injured organ back on, the injured girl needed 20 stitches.

According to the information, the playground in Amfilochia was built last summer, but was never put into operation because it did not have a ramp for people with disabilities. The child’s mother complained that there was no prohibitory sign at the entrance to the children’s complex, and the doors were open. She also noted that after complaints, the municipality installed the required sign. The mayor emphasized that there were warning signs there before the incident. However, presumably someone removed them without the municipal authorities noticing.
