Koutsumbas: "We fight, we fight, we demand that Tempi’s crime not be hidden"

The strike meeting of the Larisa Labor Center was attended by the General Secretary of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, who in his speech mentioned, in particular, the train accident in Tempi – today marks one year since the tragedy.

“Today we fight, we fight, we demand that Tempi’s crime not be hidden, that all political and criminal responsibility that led to the conflict, the explosion and the death of 57 innocent human souls, most of them our children, be placed on the perpetrators.”– he said.

Koutsoumbas touched upon issues of labor rights, emphasizing that KKE is fighting for increased wages and pensions, and regarding agricultural problems he said: “We need a fight to reduce the cost of production, but also a fight against KOK, which is wiping farmers out of the fields.”

At the same time, he touched upon the topic of auctions for the sale of first homes, saying that “they must be stopped” and on the issue of health care, he said that it is necessary to recruit doctors and nurses into hospitals.

Finally, the KKE Secretary General also addressed the role of the military in Larissa, accusing the government of “is dragging our country into the war, having its headquarters here in Larissa, sending frigates to the Red Sea in the interests of NATO.”
