Thessaloniki municipality is launching an intensive sterilization program for stray animals, mainly cats, calling on all “animal lovers” to help the authorities in efforts aimed at reducing the population of stray animals and ensuring their welfare.
Members of the public can register by calling 2313 318716, 2313 318717, 2313 318719 and 2313 317615 from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday to help spay, microchip and vaccinate stray animals in their area.
In case of emergency situations involving injured animals, citizens can call after 17:00 on 2133 317777. In addition, the Municipality of Thessaloniki is conducting free microchipping, vaccination and sterilization of pets (cats and dogs)available in families conditionally belonging to vulnerable social groups: people with disabilities, large families, the poor, the unemployed, etc.
