Governor of the Belgorod region: "There is a battle with Ukrainians in the village of Terebreno"

According to the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, in the village of Terebreno on the border with Ukraine there is a shooting battle with the Ukrainian military.

“The village of Terebreno, Krasnoyaruzhsky district, is under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to preliminary information, there is a shooting battle with the enemy on the border of the village. All relevant departments are keeping the situation under control.”

Residents of the village, home to about 200 people, were not evacuated; they are hiding in shelters.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukrainian sabotage groups have already repeatedly entered the territory of the Belgorod region and other regions of the Russian Federation and conducted military operations there, DW recalls. The Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion, fighting on the side of Ukraine, took responsibility for them. In June 2023, according to some media reports, they temporarily took control of a number of villages in the Grayvoronsky district of the Belgorod region. They have not yet reported anything about the battles in Terebreno.
