In Denmark it is illegal to burn the Koran.

The Danish Parliament has passed a law criminalizing the destruction of copies of the Koran.

It will now be illegal to burn, damage or trample religious texts in public with the intention of widely publishing photographs of their destruction, as happened with the Koran in Denmark this summer. It will also be prohibited to tear, cut or stab them. The violator faces a two-year prison sentence.

The goal is to protect the interests and national security of the Scandinavian country. Following a debate that lasted almost four hours, the text was adopted in the third reading by 94 out of 179 members of parliament.

Rasmus Paludan burned the Koran again, but in Denmark

Denmark and Sweden have sparked outrage in Muslim countries over the burning of the Koran after far-right activist Rasmus Paludan of the Danish anti-Islamist Hardline party burned a Koran. First he did it in Swedenthen in Denmark.

This offense caused a harsh reaction from Muslim countries and spoiled the already unimportant relations between Sweden and Turkey.
