Erdogan to Scholz: “Israel has nuclear weapons and is hiding them. You don’t speak freely because you committed the Holocaust.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz today, made strong statements claiming that Israel has nuclear weapons and also mentioned Eurofighter fighters.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan is on an official visit to Germany, and after a meeting with Frank Walter Steinmeier, with whom he agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East and a two-state solution, a meeting followed with Olaf Scholz.

“Does Israel have nuclear weapons? Yes, it does, but if you ask them about it, they will say no. They are very good at using lies.” – said, in particular, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “I speak freely, – Erdogan said. – Because we have no debt to Israel. Those who are in debt cannot speak freely.”

On Scholz’s condemnation of Hamas and Germany’s formulation of solidarity with Israel, which “non-negotiable” Erdogan replied: “They go to bed, they wake up, Hamas, Hamas, Hamas… There is no need to evaluate the Palestinian issue with the psychology of guilt. I speak freely. Because we don’t owe Israel anything.”. And immediately after that he added: “We didn’t have a Holocaust problem.”

Referring to the possibility of Germany selling Eurofighter aircraft to Turkey, he said that “not only Germany builds them.” “Will Germany sell you Eurofighters?” – one of the journalists asked him. To which Erdogan replied: “We are not an ordinary country. We are one of the top five NATO countries. If Germany does not sell us planes, we will try other methods. Moreover, they are not the only country that produces them.”
