“In general, the situation really causes our deep concern. We are watching what is happening very carefully. So far, the situation is developing through increasing escalation. There is a great risk of third forces being involved in this conflict. Hamas attacks on Israeli cities are being described on Russian state TV as brutal and even “exorbitant.” “A large number of prisoners were captured. They are unceremoniously taken to the Palestinian territories. “They obviously haven’t heard of conventions protecting prisoners here,” says the Voskresnoye Vremya correspondent on Channel One, calling what happened “hell.” – This is a blatant hostage taking. Hamas soldiers are seizing civilians. Even children.”

He says that the Palestinian Authority maintains daily contacts with Moscow, and preparations are now underway for President Abbas’s visit. quotes Russian publication RBC said: “We are expecting an official statement from the Kremlin, from the Russian side about when the visit will take place. An agreement has been reached that Mr. Abbas will come here to Moscow.”
