Market Pass: countdown to platform opening

The Market Pass platform is expected to open for new beneficiaries to apply on Friday 15 September. According to the schedule, the electronic platform will remain open until October 31.

All those who did not receive benefits last time (either because they were not entitled to it or because they did not have time) will be able to reapply at gov.gr. Their application will be reviewed based on their 2022 tax returns.

The second round of the Market Pass-2 food assistance program for residents of Greece, some categories of citizens will receive larger amounts. For example, those who have requested and received market pass money in their bank accounts in previous months have the right to submit a new application and request a change in the way assistance is provided. Depending on the implementation of the program, at the moment assistance is provided either by issuing an intangible digital card, which will be stored on a smartphone, or by crediting the amount to the citizen’s bank account. In this case, 80% of the amount due is paid.

The amounts provided to individuals if they wish to receive cash (transfer to a bank card) are as follows:

32 euros for a single-parent family (one parent with a dependent child).
42 euros for a family with one parent and two dependent children.
42 euros for a couple with a dependent child.
€52 for a couple with two dependent children.
€62 for a couple with three dependent children.
€72 for a couple with four dependent children.

“Old” beneficiaries can submit a new application until September 25, 2023, if they wish to change the way assistance is provided, or if the IBAN number of their chosen bank account has changed.
