Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis left open the possibility of government intervention in connection with the increase in ferry ticket prices.
During the briefing, Mr. Marinakis was asked “about sky-high ticket prices” and replied that the government was monitoring the issue.
“The government has proven that it does not leave any issue to chance by intervening directly, for example, as in the energy issue. We are monitoring this and you will be immediately informed of news from the government,” said Pavlos Marinakis.
Ferry tickets have become unavailable for both solo travelers and families. As iefimerida.gr previously wrote, each person should expect more than 100 euros for a round-trip ferry ticket, without a car. And for families traveling with children and their own car, the cost of the trip jumps up to 1,000 euros.
Some who have chosen long-distance destinations have to pay even more.
