An 81-year-old disabled man was thrown out into the street, not even allowing him to take away his clothes

Another case of callousness on the part of the notorious foundations, which the Mitsotakis government “untied their hands”: 20 police officers evicted an 81-year old man with mobility problems, without even letting him take his clothes!

And all this happens during the election period, when such issues should be “softened” so as not to create image problems for the government. Obviously, the foundations are not interested in such questions.

Before dawn, twenty policemen carried the 81-year-old man and his family out of his home in Flogita, Halkidiki, with his daughter complaining that they didn’t even have time to pack their clothes.

“They came in the morning, grabbed my father, carried him outside and immediately changed the locks. His wheelchair was without a charger, but they didn’t even let him take a charger! Not our clothes, nothing… They wanted to evict us so much, that they lost the key to the new lock and then changed it a second time,” said Efi, daughter of 81-year-old father Anastasia.

The family of an 81-year-old man lost the house they lived in due to the inability to fully repay a loan of 85,000 euros.

The house was auctioned by the collection company Cepal, which bought the debt from the National Bank and sold it to an “investor” from North Macedonia.

This is a property with a total area of about 300 sq.m, on a plot of about 600 sq.m, with a basement, a basement and one floor. An elderly disabled person lives in the house on the ground floor, and his son lives upstairs, having taken out a loan for repairs in the amount of 85 thousand euros.

The man was unable to repay it, as he became unemployed, and therefore the debt fell on the shoulders of his father, who acted as a guarantor. The pensioner became disabled after losing his leg in an accident at work. Nevertheless, despite all this, the two men managed to repay more than half of the original debt, about 50 thousand euros.

But due to interest payments, the total debt has reached 150,000, and now his family is unable to meet further obligations.

The property was put up for auction in December last year, while the family tried to negotiate with the collection agency to which the property was sold.

“We tried to negotiate with the buyer to give him the amount he paid for the house, plus his expenses. We were also looking for a buyer, someone we know, because we can’t afford someone else to take the house, despite the fact that grandparents could not stay in it until the end of their lives. We even made him an offer to leave only the lower floor, but he would never agree, “said the eldest daughter of the family.

“This is my house, I’ve been building it since I was 29. I’m disabled, I have serious health problems, and I have nowhere to go. How can I leave and where can I go?” – complains 81-year-old man.

Old man ten days ago he filed a public complaint about the upcoming eviction from the house, but his statement was ignored.

Then he even said: “Tsipras sold Macedonia, Mitsotakis sold our houses.” He complains that a man from North Macedonia took his house: “We are being expelled … We tried to negotiate. We even appealed to the Supreme Court, but “the miracle did not happen” …
