Barrier to the train … not an obstacle

The accident in Tempi brings a lot of “unexpected surprises” from other parts of the country. A video came into the hands of experts, in which the train passes along the tracks at a time when the barrier was already raised.

After the Tempi accident plunged the country into mourning, a video from Florina shows dire deficiencies in the infrastructure of the rail network in Amintayo. In particular, as can be seen in the footage, a cyclist who is about to cross the railway track (because he sees that the passage is open) suddenly notices that a train is rushing along the rails.

Mahina passes through a very short period of time, after the barrier was raised. And the fact that the waiting cyclist and driver (not moving for a while) seem to be aware of the problem and “get used to this picture” which is not the norm, notes lifo.gr.

As the Twitter post says, “The locals know this, but the rest? It’s just a miracle what country we live in.” Apparently everyone who visits Florina should find out the train schedule from local residents so that nothing threatens their lives. “This is a common occurrence… We have written countless documents on this issue, but no one is listening to us,” Mayor Amintayo Antimos Bitakis said this morning.
