Jewelery store robbery in which attackers raised blinds by car solved

The robbery of a jewelry store, during which more than 100,000 euros worth of valuable jewelry was stolen, was carried out by Greek law enforcement agencies for an extended period of time.

As a result, the identity of a 37-year-old man was established, against whom a criminal case was initiated. The burglary took place in March 2021 at a jewelry store in Oreokastro (Thessaloniki).

The attackers managed to get into the store using the “old trick”. The thieves lifted the security shutters with a strap attached to the vehicle. The search for the perpetrator’s accomplices continues.

At the same time, an investigation by Oreokastro (Thessaloniki) police officers reportedly led to the discovery of other cases of theft recorded in the area.

Charges were filed against two other individuals:

  • A 39-year-old citizen who in November 2022, breaking the door of an apartment building, took a laptop out of the apartment.
  • A 35-year-old citizen who broke the window glass of a truck and stole a bag with personal documents and things from there.

The relevant cases have been referred to the competent judicial authorities.
