Police Counter Terrorism Units (EKAM) in Athens have arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of links to the terrorist organization ISIS, Greek Police (ELAS) said.
The suspect, identified as an Iraqi citizen, was previously arrested on December 7, 2021 on charges of smuggling migrants and released on bail. He was arrested again in one of the districts of the Greek capital on Thursday 23 December.
He is now due to appear before a prosecutor in Athens on Friday morning to answer new charges.
