Ukraine: another contract signed with Pfizer for the supply of vaccines

The Office of the President of Ukraine announced that it has signed an additional contract with Pfizer to supply 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, raising the total expected to 20 million.

To date, the country has recorded more than 2 million cases of coronavirus, 44,436 deaths. The press service, with reference to the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksim Stepanov, says:

“We have signed a contract. This gives us a total of 20 million doses of Pfizer vaccine this calendar year. ”

Ukraine plans to receive the first half a million vaccines in the near future, then in the third quarter – 4.5 million doses, and in the fourth – the remaining 15 million. In addition, Ukraine will purchase vaccine preparations from AstraZeneca, China and within the framework of the COVAX initiative. At the moment, 752,293 Ukrainians have completed the first stage of vaccination.
